Whitstable Carnival

It was Whitstable's 122nd carnival but our first time participating and what an event it was. Coinciding with the town's harbour festival meant that the town was packed with an estimated 10,000 people. All of whom seemed to be lining the streets, cheering and dancing to the samba beat. Starting towards Tankerton, the carnival parade snaked down the hill into the town down past the harbour and then on through the middle of town. With it's narrow streets and a closely packed crowd the sound was huge and bounced off all the walls and shops. Such a great atmosphere and we were so glad to be able to step in at the last moment. Let's hope we will be back next year for the 123rd event !
