What a superb day for leading a St George's Day Parade!
Summer had certainly arrived in West Malling on St Georges Day 2018. We were delighted to be asked to lead the parade through the town for the Malling Scouting Association. Lot's of smiling faces encouraged us along the High Street past the medieval abbey, with the procession culminating on the cricket ground where Charles Dickens’ Mr Pickwick played his famous cricket match. There, each of the Scouting Groups renewed their promises and awards were given for various achievements including long service volunteers who have been helping for up to 40 years! All in front of the Mayor and his wife. A great bunch of people, a lovely day.
