Celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday with a great community picnic event on the Green at Bearsted. Hundreds of people braved the weather and were determined to enjoy the day despite the rain by sheltering under umbrellas and gazebos. Old School Samba were there to add some sunshine and colour with their latin and Cuban rhythms which had people up on their feet grooving away to the beat. Add a dash of the Lisa Davies Big band, the Abbey Ukulele band and the Big Sing choir and we were set for the afternoon helped along by our very own picnic.
Everyone we spoke to really enjoyed the event and especially the energetic and infectious sounds of Old School Samba with many wanting to know more about where we rehearse and how to be part of the group.
